A Season of Change
November is when fall truly comes alive. The air turns crisp, the colorful leaves give way to bare branches, and you finally trade your shorts for jeans and a flannel. It’s that magical in-between moment—after Halloween’s thrills and just before Thanksgiving’s cozy feasts. The season is all about change.
Dates to Remember
· November 1 – All Saints’ Day
A Christian celebration honoring all saints, known and unknown, who have attained Heaven.
· November 2 – Daylight Saving Time Ends
Set your clocks back one hour at 2 AM.
· November 4 – Election Day
Don’t forget to vote!
· November 11 – Veterans Day
A day to honor and thank the brave men and women who have served in our military.
· November 27 – Thanksgiving Day
President Lincoln officially proclaimed Thanksgiving a national holiday in 1863.
Dinner Dance – Volunteers Needed
Help make this year’s Dinner Dance sparkle! ✨
· Greeters: Welcome guests each night.
· Decorations: Set up on December 12 and take down on December 13.
· Check-in: Assist with guest check-in and hand out table markers.

This month, we’re proud to recognize Judy Love, our current BLO Secretary. Judy served as Secretary in 2024 and as Program Chair in 2023. Her dedication to BLO is heartfelt, and she’s also active in other Bentwater organizations. Judy’s time and energy are felt throughout our community.

Holiday Fashion Show
Presented by MACY’S
What is the most asked question of the season? What do I Wear?
Join us for our Annual BLO Holiday Fashion Show and Shopping Extravaganza on Monday, November 10th at the Yacht Club for an answer to your style questions and early bird shopping for the special people on your list.
Macy's will have make-up, jewelry, accessories, perfumes, and gift ideas for everyone. Their personal stylist will be on hand to provide you with great suggestions.
Doors will open at 10:00 for your shopping convenience. If you haven't made your reservation, make it today, you won't want to miss the FUN!

The menu for the lunch: Chicken Cordon Bleu, Sour cream & chive mashed potatoes and roasted red beets
Dessert: Pumpkin Cheesecake. If you prefer the alternate meal, salad with spring mix, tomato, cheese crumbles, hard boiled egg and hot grilled chicken, make this request when registering. Lunch orders cannot be changed after the registration deadline. A cash bar for wine and champagne is available.

Reservations are due by MIDNIGHT, SUNDAY, November 2nd.
Use the Bentwater App, go online or call the Club at 936.597.6219 (weekdays). Please make sure you have a confirmation from the Club for your lunch reservation as it will be required to check in.
Please wear your name tag so the many new members can get to know you.
MIX AND MINGLE
Please bring unwrapped toy donations for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots to Mix & Mingle. Each year, Bruce Sellers leads veterans and active duty military as they collect and sort donations. He will take donations from Mix & Mingle.

BROOKWOOD COMMUNITY
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 2 -- HOLIDAY SHOPPING SPOTS ARE STILL AVAILABLE
Our destination will be the Brookwood Community in Katy, TX. Brookwood was started as a place special needs adults could live, work and play independently after aging out of the system; it is non-profit. BLO will be treated to a tour, then have lunch –on your dime, and plenty of time for shopping. In the shops of the complex you will find stunning poinsettias and other plants as well as marvels made by the residents (no these are not popsicle houses). · LEAVING from the yacht club 9:00 am RETURNING 6:00 pm.
· COST $64 per person
· LIMITED TO 34
· COST INCLUDES bus, driver and tip, water, wine, snacks and a small donation to the community

IN THE COMMUNITYCoushatti Trace Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will provide yet another way for neighbors to support veterans by purchasing a wreath from Wreaths Across America-Houston. These wreaths, priced at $17, are laid on marked veteran graves at the Houston National Cemetery during the holiday season.———————————————————————————————————————————————————-
The Bentwater Civic Association will be selling beautiful red 6.5" poinsettias in foil wrappers this year.
We intend to use the funds to continue to support the new and improved Mix and Mingle as well as fund other events and new projects. We recently helped to fund the new bathrooms in The Park at the Meadows, and hope to help with future improvements to the neighborhood.
Please note, as shown on the form the plants are $12 each, payment may be made by cash, check or Zelle. To request a form, please send an email to [email protected]
