The Heat Is On
Summer’s still going strong—and the pool seems like the busiest place in town. But even with the heat, your board and committees have kept things moving.

Women’s Equality Day – August 26
This day marks the 1920 ratification of the 19th Amendment, giving U.S. women the right to vote. Carrie Chapman Catt, a leader in the movement, called the opposition “the most nefarious lobby” in political history. After the amendment passed, she founded the League of Women Voters, which still works today to inform and empower voters.
Dinner Dance Update
Planning is underway! Big thanks to Theresa Heitmeier—her creativity is shining in the décor. We’ll need volunteers soon to help with finishing touches, so keep an eye out for dates.
Holiday Home Tour
It’s happening—and all four homes are secured! Stay tuned for a special preview coming in October.

Award winning author of “The Housekeeper’s Secret”, Sandra will provide the basis of keeping a family legacy through storytelling.

The doors to the Yacht Club open at 10:30 am.
The menu for the lunch: Crusted Chicken Romano, pasta in a lemon cream sauce, small Caesar Salad and garlic bread.
Dessert: Lemon Custard with Berries
If you prefer the alternate meal, chicken cobb salad, make this request when registering. Lunch orders cannot be changed after the registration deadline above. A cash bar for wine and champagne is available.
September Luncheon Reservation Deadline
Reservations are due by MIDNIGHT, SUNDAY, AUGUST 31ST. To make a reservation, use the Bentwater App, go online or call the Club at 936.597.6219 (weekdays). Please make sure you have a confirmation from the Club for your lunch reservation as it will be required to check in.
Note: Lunch selections cannot be changed after the registration deadline above.
Please wear your name tag so the many new members can get to know you.

- Spinel – Once mistaken for ruby, spinel is finally getting the attention it deserves as a bold, colorful alternative.
