Hello Ladies, I hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather this spring. We truly live in a spectacular area of Texas. We are once again so “grateful, thankful and blessed” as Kitty Pavelka so aptly put it last month. Also at our March luncheon, we were spellbound by the amazing life of our own Deb Rose as she shared highlights from her 33 ½ years as an FBI Special Agent. Take time to thank her for her service. We have such an incredible group of ladies in our community. As I begin to get to know more of you, I realize the abundance of talent within our gates. I am in awe! I cannot believe the talent just in the ladies of my board. I could never do this alone; they each share their gifts, and I am blessed by each one. Recently, I was asked to provide some pictures for Stroll Bentwater Life magazine. I contacted Charlsie Rogge who provided me with some photos from one of the Art-to-Lunch excursions. I was immediately intrigued by the beautiful exhibit the members of the club had witnessed. I wanted to know more about their leader. Charlsie is a past president of BLO, but what I learned about her love and knowledge of the arts was fascinating. She has headed our Art-to-Lunch program for the last 15 years. Another amazing woman, Susie Bogan, is an Art Historian and recently held a lecture entitled “Modern Art” for the women of BLO. Susie is also the Chair of the BLO Mahjong Group. We are excited for our April Program—Mikey Johnson of Real Food Ranch and her fabulous family along with the vendors of our mini Farmers Market. Come and try all the natural products available for purchase. It takes incredible talent, hard work and determination to use the gifts of the land.
