Antiques: Explore the wonderful world of antiques from different outings activities. Meets on the 4th Thursday of the month unless an outing is planned. $15 annual fee payable to the committee treasurer, Ann Pitman.

Art-to-Lunch: Visit museums or art related venues in the Houston area followed by lunch. Usually meets on 3rd Thursday of the month.

Book Club Wednesday: Group selects books to read with discussions occurring at a member’s home. Meets on the 4th Wednesday of the month.

Book Club Thursday: Group selects books to read with discussions occurring at a member’s home. Meets on 4th Thursday of the month.

Bridge: A four-player partnership trick-taking game with thirteen tricks per deal. Each player is dealt thirteen cards from a standard 52-card deck. Play bridge on the second Tuesday of each month at 9:30 am in the Ladies Locker Room at the Country Club.

Duplicate Bridge: Is a variation of contract bridge where the same set of bridge deals (i.e. the distribution of the 52 cards among the four hands) are played by different competitors, and scoring is based on relative performance. Play duplicate bridge on the third Thursday of the month in the Ladies Locker Room at the Country Club.

Canasta: A form of rummy using two full decks in which players or partnerships try to meld groups of three or more cards of the same rank and score bonuses for 7-card melds. Gather on the 1st and 3rd Friday’s of the month at the Oak Room and Ladies Card Room at the County Club.

Triple Canasta: Also known as Hand, Knee, and Foot, is a variation on Canasta for four players in partnerships. Like Hand and Foot, Triple Play gives each player extra hands of cards they must play through before going out. Gather on the 1st and 3rd Friday’s of the month at the Oak Room and Ladies Card Room at the Country Club.

Bunco: A fun, social dice game and a great way to meet ladies in Bentwater! The 2024 group will meet on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Members host in their own homes on a rotating basis with usually 3 tables of 4. Members bring a food dish or beverage to share.

Casual Dining IN: Groups of 4-5 couples dine casually in a members’ homes. The organizer puts groups together. This is a great way to meet new people and for spouses to meet other spouses. Groups are encouraged to meet in February, April, June, September and October but each group will decide for themselves what schedule fits their needs.

Casual Dining OUT: Groups of 4-5 couples dine at local restaurants. The organizer puts groups together. Someone from each group can take the lead in choosing the restaurant. This is a great way to sample restaurants in our area as well as make new friends and encourage spousal participation. Groups are encouraged to meet in February, April, June, September, and October but each group can decide what fits their needs.

Community Service: This group is for the philanthropist in all of us. The group meets to discuss various charitable organizations or events that need help with manpower or perhaps a drive to collect items needed. This group meets as needed.

Garden Club: Group’s mission is to have members acquire additional knowledge of plants and gardening methods unique to our area. Monthly speakers and fun field trips are planned. Meets the 3rd Wednesday of the month. $20.00 annual fee payable to the committee Treasury Anne Davis.

Gourmet Dining: Members and spouses/significant others prepare gourmet recipes, pre-determined by the menu committees and dine with different couples at mutually-determined dates three times a year (dining group size four couples or eight individuals). Over the course of the year members will dine with nine different couples. Preparation of dishes and expenses are equally shared among the couples. $15.00 annual activity fee which goes toward an end-of-year Cocktail Event. Complete the Gourmet Dining form under Forms on the Bentwater Ladies Organization web site and mail to Linda Walker.

Lead and Lace: Learn about gun safety or how to handle a gun. Improve your shooting skills. This group meets on the second Thursday of the month at BTO Shooting range HWY 105. Fees are paid to the range. Certified instructors are available as well as gun rental. After shooting, join the group for lunch.

Ladies on the Gaux: This group promotes camaraderie among the single and widowed ladies, as well as the ladies whose husbands prefer not to participate in various activities. Group meets of lunch or some form of activity. This is a great way to foster new friendships among the many wonderful women of Bentwater.

Mahjong: Learn and play American mahjong. Mahjong is a tile-based game developed in China during the Qing Dynasty. It is a fairly skilled game but once you learn you will really enjoy it. Meets the second and fourth Tuesday of the month in the Ladies Locker room at the Country Club.

Yarn Crafters: Whether you are a beginner or master-crafter, you’re invited to join us once a month for yacking, snacking, and anything to do with a needle! Crochet, knitting, embroidery or needlepoint we it all. In fact, anyone with a passion for yarn or thread and hooks or needles is welcome. Members take turns as Hostess on the 3rd Tuesday of each month 1-30-4pm, so bring your project and enjoy us for an afternoon of sharing techniques, ideas and new friendships. Bentwater Ladies Organization Luncheon Greeters: Welcome ladies each month at the BLO luncheon. This group checks the participants in and helps new people find a seat.

New Comer Committee: Welcome new BLO members and sit with the new members at BLO monthly meetings. Two Brunches are hosted each year to get to know each other and meet the board members.

Invocation: Lead the invocation at each BLO luncheon. Training and guidelines will be provided.

Mix and Mingle Hostesses: Meet and Greet Bentwater residents at the monthly Mix and Mingle. Mix and Mingle is held the third Tuesday in the Crescent Grille at the Country Club. Each month is a theme. Monthly prizes are raffled off by one of the sponsors. The event is hosted by BLO, MOB and the BCA.

Golf, Games and Gambling: A fun, annual trip to for golf, games and gambling. This is an overnight trip leaving by bus to a destination determined by the activity chair. Trips will either be in St. Charles, LA or the Hill Country.

Holiday Dinner Dance: This annual dinner dance gala needs volunteers to coordinate, decorate and participate in the planning. Good, detail-oriented people are encouraged to volunteer! Event is held each December.

Holiday Home Tour: Assist with the planning and preparation for the annual Holiday Home Tour. This charity fundraiser features a tour of several beautiful homes in Bentwater that are decorated for the winter holiday. Home docents and ticket salespersons are needed.

Bus Trip Buddies: Assist in the set up of the snack table, distribute tickets and check in attendees prior to leaving and after the event.

Cookies for Staff: This annual December tradition presents home baked or store bought cookies for the staff and support personnel in Bentwater. Everyone from the front and back gates to the office staff, to our surrounding EMS locations gets a little holiday treat from the grateful ladies of the BLO. Cookies are collected at the December BLO luncheon. Volunteers are needed to package cookies into gift bags and delivered that same day. Sign up to bake and/or package cookies.
